Work

Work can be fulfilling, but it can also be the cause of great frustration. The Bible helps put those exhausting, perhaps boring, days in perspective. Work is honorable, the Bible says, no matter what kind of occupation we have. Honest toil, done in a joyful spirit, is like a prayer to God. Be encouraged by these Bible verses about work.

The Motivation:

According to the Survey of Income and Program Participation conducted by the 2010 U.S. Census, well over 100 million Americans are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government.  Many are enrolled in more than one. 

A portion of our tax dollars have been earmarked to help out if we lose our job, but there is a problem when Christians receive welfare and other benefits by falsifying weekly job-search reports and refusing to look for work. 

The Bible is clear that we are commanded to work, and that our work will be blessed. Just as Adam was told to tend and keep the garden, we are meant to work as part of our God-given directive.
