Definition:

The internal peace which results from being sufficiently satisfied with one’s person, position, and possessions so that he/she is neither drawn to, nor driven by, outside alternatives which will hinder or hurt self or others

Paul told Timothy, “If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.” How far have we traveled today from this simple point of view. Could you imagine the cultural revolution if Americans began to call anything beyond basic necessities blessings instead of entitlements?

One of our greatest obstacles to living contently is confusion regarding needs vs. wants. When we take a want and make it a need, we drive our discontent. We need to rearrange our priorities and say with the Apostle Paul, "I have Jesus and that is enough.”
