Thankful
Gratefulness is living with an attitude of thankfulness. There is so much in this young man's life that he should be thankful for, but he can't seem to even think of one thing. Count how many things you observe that he has to be grateful for. (Hint: I found more blessings in the video than what was typed in the script.)
How many opportunities to be grateful did you note? A grateful spirit would radically impact how this man views and responds to everything in his life.
If you felt convicted because there were things mentioned in this video you have been taking for granted, here are some things you could do become a more grateful person.
- Count your blessings, and get everyone in the family involved. At dinner or in the car, take turns telling something you are grateful for. End with a prayer of thanksgiving to God for everything He has done for you and your family.
- Write a "Gratitude Letter." Think of a person who has supported you in reaching your goals or helped in a time of trouble, and write a thank-you letter detailing all the ways they were an encouragement to you during that time in your life.
- Give back. Volunteer with an organization that has been a blessing to you. Offer emotional support and/or financial help to someone with a personal problem. This is a powerful way of bringing your gratitude full circle.
